Love

The Christmas countdown has begun! Only 25 days until the big day. Have you started your Christmas cards? Here's an idea for bulk production, as featured in the annual simple/advanced Christmas challenge in Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft. In the first version (make 40 a night) I used strips of washi tape to form an abstract Christmas tree. You don't even need Christmas designs, just nice bold colours and patterns that pop on the white background. In the advanced version of the card (make 25 a night) I simply added a layer of patterned paper, extra tape, ribbon, and rhinestones. So there you have it! A fresh, modern Christmas card that's easy to produce in quantity. Happy crafting :)

Stamps - Darkroom Door

Turn the Page

This is such a cheeky quote! As soon as I saw it I knew I had to use it for the Darkroom Door stampers' challenge in Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft. This is really a very simple card. I stamped the books on white card, tore around the edges, and mounted it on pretty white and kraft patterned paper. The quote is actually one solid image that I stamped on kraft card and then trimmed to separate the words. And just for little bit more pretty, I added the polka dot ribbon and paper flower. Happy reading!

Stamps - Darkroom Door
Ink - Versa Magic cinnamon, Brilliance graphite black
Paper - Kaisercraft
Card - Bazzill, white, kraft
Embellishments - mulberry paper flower, ribbon

Marvellous Adventure

I was thrilled to receive a set of book-themed stamps for a Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft stampers' challenge. Reading is one of most favourite hobbies and these Darkroom Door stamps inspired so many ideas for a bookworm like me! For my first card I used the book stacks to make a background paper, repeatedly stamping and colouring with watercolour pencils. The quote about reading gave me an idea for a travel-theme so I stamped the sentiment on a small airmail card and added an old inky pen nib to tie the reading/travel themes together. I have another card to share featuring this stamp set - stay tuned!

Stamps - Darkroom Door
Ink - Distress black soot, Distress, vintage photo, StazOn jet black
Card - white, kraft
Embellishments - mini postcard, vintage pen nib, cord
Other - watercolour pencils, water mister bottle, matches
