Whimsical Words

A recent challenge in Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine focused on kraft cardstock. I made a simple, one-dimensional card which allowed the card itself to shine. I used a combination of small stamps, inked in different colours, to create an all-over chintzy pattern. A bit of old-school colouring with a white pencil added a bit of contrast and the sentiments, stamped in bold black ink, gave the card a hint of drama!

Stamps - Darkroom Door
Ink - StazOn jet black, assorted
Card - kraft
Embellishments - Kaisercraft rhinestones
Other - white pencil

50th Anniversary

I think this card might be one of my favourites from last year. Am I allowed to say that?! I love the sweet vintage photograph and the fluffy gold flowers, and the peek-a-boo effect of the cut-out window. I like that the sentiment is oversize and studded with tiny pearls. It wasn't a difficult card to make, just time consuming organising the composition. I wanted to emphasise the window with acetate, and I always have issues stamping on plastic - the sheet moves just as I press down the stamp and the image is blurry! It took a few tries but I got it in the end. Worth it :)

Stamps - Darkroom Door
Ink - Brilliance galaxy gold, StazOn timber brown
Paper - Prima
Embellishments - Words or Whatever wood cut-out, Kaisercraft pearls
Tools - paintbrush
Other - acetate, gold glitter glue, gold acrylic paint
