When was the lat time you made a shaker card? I confess I hadn't tackled one for a long while. But when Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft issued a call for shaker cards I jumped at the chance to revisit this style of cardmaking. I chose a seaside theme and although I would have preferred to fill my shaker with sand I didn't have any to hand. Coarse silver glitter was the next best thing, so I used a generous amount of that along with a handful of confetti stars. Something else I hadn't used in a while was epoxy stickers. I forgot how cool they are! Bespoke embellishments are a breeze with these babies. Shaker cards might be slightly labour intensive to make, but they sure are fun. And the possibilities are truly endless.

True Friend

This is the companion card I made for the Lil'inkers Designs stamper's challenge in Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine. I had fun with this one! I used the feather stamps to make my background, stamping directly onto the kraft card front. Next I smothered the chipboard bird with glitter and created a little nest for her using coiled, frayed string and a few egg-like beads. Finding the right size stick proved a challenge! I experimented with different ways of attaching the stick to the card and found a needle and thread to be the most effective method. Finally, it was just a matter of stamping the sentiment. Done!
