Valentine's Day is just around the corner! I confess I didn't actually make this card with Valentine's Day in mind but it easily fits the theme. The truth is this card is cobbled together with items from my box of odds and ends. The hearts are all hand-cut from off-cuts of patterned paper (never throw those small, odd-shaped pieces away!); the art doll is a quality control reject (ie. it didn't stamp as well as I'd like); and I salvaged the hands from an old project that I pulled apart for recycling. And there you have it, a cute, quirky card suitable for almost any occasion........... maybe even Valentine's Day?!
Sometimes I can be a liiiiiiiiittle slow to discover new trends and products. Take the Core'dinations colour core cardstock. It's been available for a while now and this is the first time I've used it! I like how a bit of easy sanding gives you an interesting background. I prettied this card up with bunting, a chipboard bird (sponged with white ink) and a stamp. Will definitely be stocking up on this cardstock from my LSS :-)

Ink - StazOn jet black, Brilliance moonlight white

Way back in August 2010 I blogged about my studio space. I thought it might be fun to revisit with new photos. Some things have changed, others have not. I'm gradually building my collection of glass jars for my embellishments, as well as adding an interesting tin (or two!). My wall of business cards and ephemera is coming along nicely, and I'm slowly adding pieces to the wall space above my shelves. Some recent acquisitions - the perpetual calendar and the retro camera print. This room has been a labour of love but it makes me so happy to sit at my battered old desk and just gaze at the treasures tucked away on the shelves or attached to the walls. Ahhhhh, bliss!
Big news! You'll be seeing a lot more of the amazing Darkroom Door products on my blog this year :-) I'm super excited to say I'll be joining the 2013 creative team, along with eleven other talented women. Check out the Darkroom Door blog, leave a comment, and you could win a stamp set of your choice. Good luck!
