Loved Being Famous

When I was thinking about which card to blog today, I decided this one was perfect for a Friday afternoon. I think this showgirl image by Designs Galore is one their prettiest designs. I love it so much it took me a while to use it :-) I really like the effect of the torn paper too; it adds texture and interest for hardly any effort at all.

I have big weekend planned - lots of catch-up photos as well as finishing my Christmas cards. I hope to start blogging them next week. Not long to go!

Jewelled Whimsies

I think I must have used the credit-card technique a hundred times but I never get tired of the results. How could you when it's so easy to achieve unique and beautifully coloured papers? For a little sparkle I like to splash H20's over my paper. The effect, when you tilt the paper just so, is shimmering dots of colour. The three-dimensional border you can see in the photos is texture paste. I applied to the edges of the paper and painted it when it was dry. A tip when working with texture paste: mount your paper on heavy board or card first. You'll need it to support the weight of the paste.

Stamps - Stampington & Company
Ink - StazOn jet black
Card - Bazzill
Embellishments - Kaisercraft rhinestones
Other - Jo Sonja's texture paste, LuminArte twinkling H2O's, acrylic paint, old credit card, paintbrush
