My Corner of the World

I always enjoy seeing photos of other artists' studios. It's fascinating how people work with what limited space they have. Well, this is my corner of the world. My haven. The place where I create all the things you'll find on my blog. As you can see the shelves are crowded with supplies, stamps, art, trinkets, etc. I'm constantly re-arranging stuff to fit "just one more thing" in! I have lots of ideas for the walls too; I've been collecting interesting business cards and fliers and have started wallpapering sections of blank wall between the shelves. This is an on-going project :-) The most important item in the room - my desk - is from the 1930s and although it has seen better days, I've had it since high school and could never part with it! Anyway, I think the photos below serve as a better tour guide than myself, so... welcome :-)

Goddess

Guess what? I'm no longer camera-less! Thank God. I was going mad. So now I can get back to blogging new stuff, starting with this card which is for a birthday next month. I think this stamp is uber cool; not only is the design fun and arty, but the "goddess" has such a beautiful face! Love it. More soon!

Cherish

I've made a few versions of this butterfly card because it's such a versatile design. This one is an engagement card and I made an envelope to match (note: when I say "made" what I mean is I stuck some butterflies on an envelope). In the past I've gone with a cream/amethyst combo, and this card is no exception, but I think I'll be daring next time and change the colours. I'm thinking blue :-)

Stamps - Darkroom Door, Tuscan Rose
Ink - Versamark, Brilliance graphite black
Paper - Cristina Re
Card - Canson
Embellishments - Collections vintage butterfly print, Collections altered book word, Kaisercraft rhinestones
Other - Fiskars corner punch

Scallywag

Here's a fun boy's card I made with one of my market finds: a Lego pirate. But first I have to tell you about the stall it came from - it was a huge, marquee-covered space, and inside, as far as the eye could see, was Lego. Thousands of individually packaged pieces, covering all three "walls" of the tent. I admit it was pretty cool and I'm not even into Lego. Anymore. But I thought I could do something creative with the little Lego men, so I bought a couple of pirates with the idea of turning them into cards. This is what I made :-)

Paper - K&Company
Card - Canson, Bazzill
Embellishments - Darkroom Door alphastrips, Inspirables leather sticker, Lego pirate, brass parrot charm, faux brass coins
Other - matches
