Fairy Nice

One of the pieces that really caught my eye in the new Somerset Studio was a Christmas ornament by Marsha Williams. I can't explain why but it jumped out at me. I thought to myself, that's a great idea, I can make one of those! Well, my hanging dolls didn't turn out like I expected - they're not the least bit Christmasy! But they were fun to make and I finally made use of some great clip art and reduced my (ridiculously huge) bead collection. Also, I think it's useful to vary your routine once in a while... it gets the creative juices flowing!

Embellishments - Christina Re brads, Kaisercraft pearls, clip art, prism beads, bells, button, lace, fibre, silk flowers, ribbon, safety pins, tassels, pearls beads
Other - core board, sewing thread and needle

Darkroom Door Guest Artist Part 1

Hey everyone! Just wanted tell you - I'm the guest artist over at Darkroom Door. About a month ago Rachel surprised and thrilled me by asking if I'd like to participate in the monthly feature. My reply? Heck yes! lol. I had so much fun playing with Darkroom Door's scrumptious stamps and embellishments; I hope I've done them justice! My first two projects are over there now - but here's a little sneak peek. Stay tuned because there's lots more to come over the next couple of days.

Together Forever

My final project for The Stamping Queen this month is a card that uses lots of odds and ends, including an old escutcheon I found at a garage sale (20 cents - what a bargain!) And I must give a tip of the hat to Sue - I'd forgotten about my collection of old postage stamps 'till I noticed Sue used some on her cards. They really do make great embellishments!

Embellishments - Designs Galore clip art, Darkroom Door photobooth gentleman, Darkroom Door wordstrips, Collections chipboard heart, vintage tape measure, found keyhole, silver brads, used postage stamps

Somerset Studio Nov/Dec 2008

I was sooooo excited to receive my copy of the new Somerset Studio in the mail yesterday. I raced through the pages to find my card and there is was, photographed with several other gorgeous pieces. I've done a quick scan of the page below. My card, "Naughty or Nice", is in the top left-hand corner. This issue really has some stunning ideas for Christmas. I think I might try out a few things this weekend. It's overcast and raining here, perfect weather for creating!
