May You Love

The third stamp in my Stamping Queen design team kit was this super sweet image from Paperbag Studios. I thought it'd be great for tricky all-purpose cards, and it's really easy to jazz up with whatever embellishments you have on hand. I used some pretty fibres, a brad and a charm. I think I'll save this card for a wedding anniversary later this year :-)

Stamp - Paperbag Studios (hands)
Ink - Distress black soot
Paper - Darkroom Door
Card - Bazzill
Embellishments - Basic Grey fibres, crystal brad, heart charm

Live, Laugh, Love

I'm baaaack! My first new piece for The Stamping Queen is a card which I think I'll use as a "get well" card since I have a need for one, and the design and sentiment are appropriate. From my new TSQ goodie pack I used a gorgeous Tuscan Rose stamp, Darkroom Door wordstrips and Li'l Davis ribbon. FYI, the stamped image is coloured with chalks. I thought metallics would look good as a background, so I used a piece of embossed copper paper and brightened it up with a handful of cute little flowers.

Stamp - Tuscan Rose
Ink - StazOn
Paper - embossed copper
Card - Bazzill
Embellishments - Li'l Davis ribbon, Darkroom Door wordstrips, Prima flowers, Kaisercraft rhinestones
Other - Plaid glass finish, sandpaper, chalk, fixative spray

Oh dear, I have been a bad blogger haven't I?! Shame, shame. But I've been a little bit busy with "real life", and projects for Darkroom Door, The Stamping Queen, and Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine. I hope to have lots more TSQ samples for you next week, and my Darkroom Door guest artist spot starts in mid-November (although the goodies have already arrived!). So... there'll be lots to blog about over the next month. But in the meantime, here's a quick tag I've made using one of my favourite arty stamps.

Stamp - Inkadinkado (folies)
Paper - Basic Grey
Embellishments - Making Memories alphabet rub-ons, EK Success sticker, lace, twill, manilla tag

Stars and Stripes

This is the second card I made for the recent Stampington & Company stampers' challenge in Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft. This card didn't make it into the magazine, probably because it was a bit too "American", but I liked how it turned out so I'm sharing it here on my blog. If nothing else, it was a great opportunity to use some of my vintage findings. Oh, and in case you're wondering, the stamped image is coloured with chalks.

Stamp - Stampington & Company
Ink: StazOn jet black
Card - Bazzill
Embellishments - Kasiercraft rhinestone, confetti stars, gingham ribbon, black satin ribbon, faux coin, small metal American flag
Other - chalk, fixative spray

Special Friend

I love this card because it's over-the-top in a fashionista kind of way, LOL. And also because there are lots of elements and techniques involved in the making of the card: stamping, stitching, layering and *lots* of embellishments. It was good fun :-)

Stamps - Stamp-It, Inkadinkado
Ink - StazOn jet black
Card - Canson
Paper - Daisy D's, Sonnets
Embellishments - Prima flowers, Pebbles Inc. masking tape stickers, Daisy D's crown sticker, porcelain flowers, pearl beads
Other - Plaid glass finish, pink embroidery thread, sewing needle

Silk Stockings

I've gone retro! LOL. The card below is one in a set of four, but I think this one is my favourite :-) I've used Buzz and Bloom stamps, Wild Asparagus paper, a K&Company metal frame, Pebbles Inc. alphabet stickers, and ribbon and pearl trim - which was an absolute nightmare to stick down! Have a fab long weekend everyone!

This birthday card will soon be winging its way to a blogging friend, but I won't say who because it's a surprise! I've used lots of little bits and pieces on this card, including a tiny Kaiser rhinestone, Inkadinkado rub-on, and sheer printed ribbon. The hibiscus flower is a Heidi Swapp mask sponged with light blue paint.
