Stamping & Papercraft Vol.13 No.9

Today was a brilliant mail day! Not only did I receive my new (and very gorgeous) stampers' challenge stamp, but also my contributor's copy of the new issue of Stamping & Papercraft. This set of cards was *so* much fun to create. I especially love the metal letters that make up each sentiment. They're Making Memories eyelet letters which I painted black and coated with Papier glass finish. In real life they're glossy and shiny and lovely :-)

Stamping & Papercraft Vol.13 No.8

I was beyond excited when the editors at Stamping & Papercraft asked if I'd like to participate in a Just Johanna stampers' challenge! I was a little nervous when I received my stamp - it's not my usual style - but hey, that's why it's called a challenge :-) I created two cards and both made the cut. The first one is very vintage - lots of brown, gold and copper tones. The second card is bright and funky with some stitching and a bit of bling. Thanks for looking!

Party Hat

I found time last night to play with some more tags. I love tags! This one features a gorgeous stamp designed by Sandra Evertson. Isn't it fun?! I wanted to keep it simple so all I did was add a touch of colour to the face and stick on a few rhinestones. Easy, huh?

Stamp - Stampington & Company
Ink - StazOn jet black
Paper - Daisy D's
Card - Canson
Embellishments - Kasiercraft rhinestones, ribbon
Other - coloured pencils, hole punch

Dotty

Here's a quick card I put together yesterday. This wet, windy weather is just perfect for cardmaking, don't you think? LOL. I've used another Darkroom Door Photobooth image from TSQ and teamed it with a Collections chipboard dress form. The patterned paper is by Creative Imaginations and Stampington, and I also added some ribbon, circle punchies, Collections circle word, jump ring, and a vintage lucite heart.

Wednesday Stamper - Arrows

The theme over at Wednesday Stamper this week is arrows. Here is my contribution! I've used a sweet little stamp by Paperbag Studios (available from The Stamping Queen), Sullivan's embossed paper, Making Memories de-fined sticker, a vintage jewellery finding from Jewels of the First Water, and variegated ribbon. The chipboard arrow is by Collections. I painted it with a silver Krylon pen and sealed it with a couple of coats of Papier Glass Finish. Thanks for stopping by :-)

Journey

Omigosh, these Collections dress forms are addictive! I've just finished my second doll, and as with Amelia I've used a Collections antique photograph for her face/head. But instead of a charm I've used a faux metal finding from Jewels of the First Water as a crown. Other bits and pieces are Cosmo Cricket paper, silver bead caps (flattened with a hammer!), tiny millefioire canes, Kaiser rhinestones, ribbon, florist's wire, and silver wings.

Photobooth Ladies

I just couldn't go past the new Darkroom Door products at The Stamping Queen this month, and these Photobooth Ladies are truly lovely. For this set of little tags I started by grunging up the photos with sandpaper and burning the edges with a match. Then I just added Wild Asparagus patterned paper, a few Prima flowers, ribbon and buttons. Too easy, LOL.

Reflections

Here's a little tag that's cute and super easy to make. I've made a batch of these in a rainbow of colours to keep on hand for a rainy day. How sweet would one of these tags look tied to a gift?!

Stamp - Tuscan Rose (cat)
Ink - StazOn jet black
Paper - K&Company
Card - Canson
Embellishments - Kaisercraft rhinestone, Collections altered book word, grosgrain ribbon
Other - yellow watercolour pencil, hole punch

Amelia

Time for a change of pace! Meet Amelia. She's made from lots of yummy Collections products from TSQ (chipboard dress form, antique photograph and scrabble tile) plus florists wire, a tiny crown charm, Carolee's Creations paper, gold satin wings, Kaiser pearls and a ribbon bow. On the reverse side is a small picture frame hanger attached with a brad. Now all I have to do is find the perfect spot to hang her!

Clown Cat

I'm still playing with my yummy Tuscan Rose stamps from The Stamping Queen and isn't this little fella adorable? At least, I think it's a he??? Hmmmm. Well anyway, the background is scraps of painted paper that I stitched together with embroidery thread. I really wanted to create a bright, party feel for this card.

Stamps - Tuscan Rose
Ink - StazOn jet black
Paper - watercolour
Card - Canson Vivaldi
Embellishments - Kaisercraft pearls, Pebbles Inc. alphabet stickers, Prima flower, Making Memories pink crystal brad
Other - old credit card, acrylic paint, sewing needle, blue embroidery thread, watercolour pencils

Bow Tie Kitten

Another month, another DT kit from The Stamping Queen! For my first card I thought I'd use this adorable stamp by Tuscan Rose. Isn't she cute? LOL. The background is layer upon layer of piant and ink and I used a piece of sequin mesh as a stencil. When it was dry I stamped a funky swirl by Amazing Creations and added a few Kaiser rhinestones. The word "kitten" - also by Tuscan Rose - is stamped on red card to match the bow tie and attached to the grosgrain ribbon with a jump ring.

Bold Florals

Here's another card that required a bit of tweaking, LOL. The original sentiment was a Making Memories de-fined word but it looked pretty lame. So I substituted it for a Everlasting Keepsakes Mini Stix. Voila! Stamps by Hero Arts.

Believe

I've been feeling a bit uninspired lately, so I decided to give some of my old cards a face-lift, LOL. I made this card about 6 months ago but was never happy with the computer generated text I'd slapped on the front of the card. So I carefully removed it and replaced it with a Deja Views wonderful words sticker from TSQ. Other bits and pieces are Design Originals and Daisy D’s paper, beeswax, brads, Prima flowers and metallic mesh.

Art Doll

I love art dolls, especially this little Catslife Press cutie from The Stamping Queen. I stamped her on lime green card and then layered her on stripy Basic Grey paper. I wanted to keep the embellishments to a minimum but couldn't resist a few Kaiser rhinestones, ribbon and a sequin heart :-) This little tag is part of the collection I've designed for Betty Mim.
