Sweet Pea

I'm still playing with my design team kit from The Stamping Queen, but here's my newest creation, finished just this morning! It features a gorgeous little Paperbag Studios stamp. Too cute! I've also used a few Kaiser pearls and a Collections chipboard heart. Other bits are Stampington & Company patterned paper (from the new issue of Take Ten magazine), Pebbles Inc. stickers and lots of buttons. I hope you're enjoying the beautiful day we're having!

Take Ten Sept/Oct/Nov 2008

Big surprise in the mail today! The new issue of Take Ten arrived very unexpectedly, especially since I've never submitted anything to them before, LOL. It turns out they used a card I sent to Somerset Studio for their black and white theme. The scan below doesn't show the card very well so I'm also uploading some photos I took before sending it in. Just in case you're wondering, the materials used to make this piece are Distress Ink (for the background), Kaiser rhinestones, Pebbles Inc. alpha stickers, very fine silver cord, and I cut the image of the flapper woman and her pooch from a piece of designer wrapping paper. Also, congrats to two other Aussie girls in this issue - Sue and Debbi!

Bloomin' Beautiful

Oh dear, it's nearly the end of August and I'm only now getting started on my new TSQ design team samples. How time flies! This first piece features Kaiser pearls and a gorgeous stamp by Tuscan Rose - which I stamped twice to create the full flower. The image itself is coloured with watercolour pencils and Twinkling H2Os, and the border and flower stem were hand drawn (by me, gulp!) with a black biro. Fearing the ink would smudge and wreck the design, I spayed the card with fixative and it gave the pen lines a slightly blurry effect, which looks quite good in real life. A happy accident, lol.

Have I mentioned how much I love the phrenology head? Well I do! This card features Design Originals and Daisy D's paper, Nostalgiques clock hands, a Deja Views sticker, brad, assorted clock and watch parts and black fly screen mesh -a cheap alternative to ribbon and it looks great too, especially on arty/vintage designs.

Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft Vol.14 No.1

I received my copy of the new Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft today! Always exciting. I have a project in this issue as well as two entries in the stampers' challenge feature. The 4 card project is a set of art dolls and I was so happy with how they turned out! I love that stamp - it's by Stampington & Company. As always, the mag did a wonderful job styling them for photography. The birds galore set provided for the stampers' challenge is by Inkadinkado. The first piece is a small 4x4 canvas; the second is a tag.

Buttons Galore

OMG, I'm in button heaven! Carol, fellow Novocastrian and button fairy, emailed me and said she had some buttons for me. Well, she hand-delivered several huge bags full this morning and wow, I now have every colour of the rainbow. Gorgeous! Thank you Carol :-)

Behind Door #7

I've been making ATC's for the Darkroom Door swap and here is my card. I used the "Doors" unmounted stamp set, plus a few extra bits - a Kaisercraft rhinestone and Collections rusty number tile. The absolute hardest part of this ATC (and the most tedious!) was punching out the little silver circles and cutting tiny pieces of double-sided tape to stick them to the hinges. Oh, the things I do for art, LOL.

Here's a card with a hint of ancient Rome! Nine times out of ten history is my inspiration. But I don't often go quite *so* old world, lol. As you can see, I've used clip art, a brass charm, brads, gold wire, Pebbles Inc. stickers and Design Originals and Karen Foster papers. Stamps by Collections.
