Bumblebee Baby

I've been busy, busy, busy lately making tags and gift cards for a cute little boutique in Darby Street called Betty Mim. Here's one of my creations :-) I tinted the stamped image with water colour pencils and Twinkling H20's, added a few Kaiser rhinestones, a piece of Sandylion paper, and narrow satin ribbon. The stamp is by Catslife Press and is available from TSQ.

The Cat's Meow

What a fabulous saying! I love this little Catslife Press stamp from The Stamping Queen. I immediately thought it would suit an Art Deco design, so here's a tag I made using clip art from a vintage fashion-themed calender. The patterned paper is by Prima and I added a few Kaisercraft rhinestones and bright purple ribbon. The CP image is stamped on Bazzill card and I water coloured the little cat. It's attached to the tag with silver ball chain and held in place with double-sided tape.

25th Birthday

I think this grungy Catslife Press stamp from TSQ is ideal for birthday cards, especially those hard-to-make-for boys! The great thing about this stamp is how easy it is to customise the design. For this card I highlighted the '2' and '5' by stamping on red paper and then adhering the numbers to the original impression. The backround - which looks like patterned paper - is actually strips of Heidi Swapp sticky tape, distressed with sandpaper and stuck to the base card :-)

Here's a quick little tag I've made using two sweet Catslife Press stamps from TSQ. The bird is stamped on kraft card and I added just a hint of colour with a red watercolour pencil. The crown is stamped on blue card to match the flowers. Patterned paper by Wild Asparagus and flowers by Prima.

Rogue's Gallery

OMG, this card took me *forever* to put together. I was obviously having a very uninspired day! Anyway, I used two of my new Catslife Press stamps from The Stamping Queen, along with a brass dragonfly brad, a few bits of coloured card and patterned paper by K&Company and Captured Elements. Phew! Glad this one's finished :-)

When Barb from The Stamping Queen asked me to select a few stamps from the Catslife Press range for this month's design team kit, I couldn't resist this little cutie. I mean, who could?!

Ink - StazOn jet black
Paper/card - Sonnets, Canson

This is Eliza, the second in my pair of Ancestral Home canvases. The composition and design is very similar to Charles; I just varied the embellishments a little. Instead of harsher, masculine-type objects, I used buttons, gingham ribbon, flowers, gold wire and a gorgeous miniature resin cameo from Jewels of the First Water.

Wednesday Stamper - In My Garden

As this week's Wednesday Stamper challenge is garden oriented, I decided to kill two birds with one stone and make an Easter card :-) The flower by Impression Obsession is stamped on Bazzill card and then layered on K&Company paper. Ribbon, copper micro beads and a Deja Views sticker from TSQ finishes it off.

The special project I've been working on this past week is a pair of Ancestral Home canvases. They're a gift for my mother for Easter. Well, there's only so much chocolate a person can eat, right? Here is the first panel - Charles. I began by painting (and re-painting, and re-painting!) the canvas panel and stamping a Lost Aussie Designs image over the entire surface with black and brown ink. Next I printed the photograph and tore around the edges. For a little extra oomph I burnt the photo with a match. The portrait was then secured to distressed card and K&Company paper with eyelets and florist's wire. Other little bits I added are a found key, ball chain, mesh, a Nostalgiques metal word, mulberry paper flower, and beeswax.

Beautiful Memory

Forgive me for not blogging sooner but I've been working on a special piece for Easter. As soon as I've finished I'll update with photos but in the meantime I thought I'd share some pictures of my most recent projects in Australian Paper Crafts magazine. The first item is a Collections shrine painted and embellished with lots of fun goodies including gorgeous stamps by Paper Artsy, Limited Edition and Lost Coast Designs.

Folies Bergere

I had a request from my mother this morning - 2 birthday cards for tomorrow night. Eeeek! Fortunately I have a rather large stash of cards for emergencies like this, LOL. This is one of my favs, I just revamped it with a new base card, some vintage silk ribbon and a replica French medallion. Other elements include handmade paper, K&Company and 7gypsies patterned paper and mesh. Stamps by Tin Can Mail and Catslife Press.

Wednesday Stamper - Stars

This week's Wednesday Stamper challenge is stars. I had fun with this one! The background is black, silver and blue paint on watercolour paper (acheived with the trusty credit-card technique). I then stamped the paper with two kinds of stars using black and white ink. The focus image is stamped on pale card and I watercoloured the hair for a bit of extra colour. Next came the Pebbles Inc. alphabet stickers, a silver rhinestone and fine silver cord. Stamps by Amazing Creations and Paper Artsy.
